So why Aren’t Your Visitors Turning Into Clients?
Maybe you really ARE getting lots of clients. Then you’re doing a lot right, and you won’t have to read any further. But if you feel frustrated because you’re just not getting the results you’ve been promised, read on.
And take a good hard look at your website… Look at it like a visitor would look at it. They’re asking themselves two all-to-common questions:
1) So what?
2) What’s in it for me?
Both of them are really all about what this website can do for THEM? Is it for them? Can it get them what they’re looking for? And so on.
So are you answering those questions? Are you promising and delivering them MORE information that would truly help them?
Think about it…
People visit websites because they’re looking for something. Hopefully, your website gets found by people looking for what you have to offer. If not, you have a different problem. But for the moment, let’s assume that the visitors are in fact TARGETED visitors (or traffic).
So what is it they want from you? Information, and someone who can help them, right?
This means that your job is to convince them that YOU are the one who can help them, and the way to convince them that you are indeed that person is to provide them with useful and helpful information – information that’s easy to “consume.”
Now I have seen websites that have a ton of information, but it is most definitely not easy to consume. So your visitors are unlikely to turn into clients.
How To Turn Visitors Into Clients
The key to turning those visitors into clients is to turn them into prospects first! This means that you don’t want them to wander away, on to the next website. You want to keep them on YOUR website. And you want them to give you their contact information so you can follow up with them.
